San Diego, Calif. - University of Louisville senior men's golfer Derek Fathauer fired a 2-over par 73 to make the cut in the US Open in San Diego, Calif. on Friday.

For the second straight day, Fathauer shot a 73 and is 4-over par. He currently stands in a tie for 35th-place over with a number of golfers, including Phil Mickelson, who shot 75 on Friday.

Fathauer currently stands just seven shots off the leader of Stuart Appleby, who is in the clubhouse at 3-under par. Fathauer is one of three amateurs who made the cut on Friday.

The cut for the open was at 8-over par.

Fathauer will tee off at Noon on Saturday with Dustin Johnson.
